Evolution of CCTV (Closed Circuit Television).
It started with telescopes monitoring the horoscopes, then the need increased when the German armed forces needed to monitor the launch of V2 rockets in 1942. The system was developed, designed and installed by Walter Bruch.
The system purpose was live monitoring these rockets through cameras and monitors, just like today. Cameras were set near the unsafe places.
In 1949, technology was launched on a commercial basis and an American contractor began promoting the system. It was small, low-resolution black and white monitors with no interactive capabilities.
Later in 1964, Liverpool police initiated using CCTV for criminal purposes and it was too helpful for them as it assisted in solving many cases.
The introduction of CCTV to the public was released in the 1970s right after the VCRs were created. The CCTV was used at high-risk security places such as banks.
The alignment of the technology of CCTV and VCR systems was a breakthrough for CCTV cameras to be used. Being secured from theft and robbery because of using CCTV cameras that time was a huge the 90s was the Golden Era for the CCTV technology as there were many inventions and new technologies that helped in the growth of CCTV around the world.
Multiplexing technology allows combining different video signals from any number of CCTV to be displayed on one monitor. Digital video records were a hit that caused a wave of adoption of CCTV.
CCTV market demand gets higher as many business owners started to know the benefits of CCTV on their business security systems.
The first IP camera "NETEYE 200" was invented in 1996 by Axis Communications. The invention of remote CCTV monitoring in the same year provided real-time security when it comes to identification of threats.
